From Rider to Racer

Being a filmmaker, I've always been fascinated with doing a documentary on learning a new skill. So when I started riding motorcycles, I thought it would be a kool idea to make a documentary on my growth as a rider. Two years later and almost one hundred hours of footage, the twenty minute film is finally done.

Its not perfect by any means, but when you've got 20 minutes, sit back and enjoy!

hey man.. good job..

you said that you were a filmmaker.. do you have any other films that you've done?.. just curious.. i've been in the "business" for about 17 years myself.. wouldn't mind seeing more..

i think your camera work got better as the film went on as well... i like the shot into the sun when the music of "Queen" is kicking off... good stuff.. while watching it.. i ( as a viewer and track rider ) wanted to see more of where you were going on the track.. the on-bike experience POV down the track kinda thing... i miss the track.. a great mix of stills and hand-held action.. very nice..

so .. is there gonna be sequel?... have fun out there in '09..

Tye- absolutely superb. Thank you so much. You do not know how encouraging that video was for a rider wanting to become a racer some day. Truly, fabulous work.

This was just the beginning... I've had to "train" my crew over the last year on what the best angles are to shoot, how to get repeat shots without using a tripod, etc... My best friend Dan Shaw shot almost all of the video, the stuff he didn't shoot was the creative stuff towards the end...

If your bored some day, check out tye's list: http://www.tye1138.com/tyeslist.htm

Yes, there will be a sequel...
