Camera Illiterate

My little Point and Shoot died....

I spend so much time at the roadcourse and mx track that I now want a camera that can provide the image quality our passion in bikes deserves and the speed at which our subjects move.

I want something that is still very user friendly and that has a great "auto" mode still. (Dare I say auto in this forum ) I also want something that is priced appropriately.

I was looking at the Canon Rebel XSi so far

Am I headed in the right direction?

You can find a used Canon 40D now with a decent lens for a good price, it will give you some nice features and a little higher quality.

Go Canon or Nikon. Their lenses are easier to find and you usually less expensive. I bought a Maxxum 7D a few years ago and it's really hard to find a good lens. And when you do find one it's big $$$$. Love the camera but hate buying lenses for it. Probably why I only have one half way decent lens.

I found a camera guys.
After talking with a good friend I decided on the new Nikon D60 and just started with the 18-55 lenses. I chose this camera as well because he has a Nikon and could use all the help I can get learning how to use this thing Not quite like riding a bike ...lol
Hopefully I can get it sorted out and be able to put pics that are good enough to post up here.
