Lightning
Post some lightning photos here. I got home tonight just in time to catch a nice electrical storm.

How do you take the photos? Moun the camera on a tripod and hold the shutter open on "bulb" setting for a few strikes?

Mount the camera on a tripod, set f stop and exposure in manual setting (most tonight were 4 sec exposures) then set camera to do a series of 10 continuous shots, then hope for the best. I took more than 100 shots to come up with these 6 tonight. Many caught nothing at all.

The most spectacular display of thunder & lightning I have ever seen was in August, 1976, when I was vacationing with my parents in central Iowa. The heat and humidity had been building up all week and you knew all h*** was going to break loose Friday or Saturday.
The storm moved in from the west at sunset with three forms of lightning: sheet, aerial forks, and sky to ground. I stayed outside and watched it until it moved over us. I wish I had gotten photos. The storm was severe enough to have spawned some tornados up north in Minnesota.
