Finally a replacement magnetic oil drain plug for your track or street Duc!!

Hello everyone,

Well the cold weather (and 6+ inches of snow!!) means no riding, but it does give me some time to play around in my shop on my mill/lathe and come up with a few upgrades for my 996.

The latest....a replacement magnetic oil plug for your (non deep sump) Ducati (748-998, sport, etc).

Looking for an oil drain plug that will replace your dull factory OEM plug?
Want to still have a magnetic plug? Where the magnet can be easily replaceable?
Looking for a plug that can be easily safety wired?
Want to be able to remove the plug easily with a wrench?

I have taken the design of the factory corse plugs and added a unique feature of recessing the plug so that a magnet can be inserted into the plug instead of trying to attach the magnet on the plug inside the engine case and risking it coming loose inside the engine. Filings/flakes will be attracted to the bottom of the plug by the strong (rare earth) magnet that is located on outside in the recess of the plug. Very clean design. This magnet is much stronger than the OEM magnet. I have tested both. The key thing is that this magnet can be replaced in the future. It will be easily secured within the plug (by you) with some glue.

What year of 749 do you have?

If it is a non deep sump it will work fine.

If you want send me a pic of the bottom of the engine and I will tell you if it works?

Thanks

Magnetic/Safety Wire Oil Plug in stock

I have my first batch of (non deep sump) magnetic oil plugs in stock.

The plug will come with washer and two magnets and are available in aluminum or anodized red finish. I can also bundle it with a nice red billet oil filler cap.

You can purchase them here:
